Four Seasons

The Village of Four Seasons is Lake of the Ozarks’ most comprehensive community. Commonly referred to as “Four Seasons,” it offers more lakefront homes, condos, golf courses, and lake view residences than any other planned community. Exceedingly popular as a vacation spot or for permanent residents, it boasts a total population of over 1600 residents, exceeding that of the City of Lake Ozark.

Harold Koplar, an hotelier from St. Louis in 1964, established the Village of Four Seasons in conjunction with the Lodge of the Four Seasons. He officially opened The Lodge of Four Seasons in 1969 with the main Lodge hall, rooms with lake views, a swimming pool, and docks. In the mid 1970’s, Mr. Koplar engaged famed golf course developer Robert Trent Jones to establish what is now known as “The Cove,” an 18 hole championship golf course. Today the Lodge is the oldest and most established resort at Lake of the Ozarks, supporting many more amenities that include a world-class spa with sophistication and style like nothing else at the Lake!

Two Golf Courses, “The Ridge” and “The Cove,” anchor the Village of Four Seasons. These superb courses were designed to attract more visitors to the Lodge in the early and late seasons, when tourists traditionally stopped coming to the Lake. With the tremendous success of the Lodge of Four Seasons, Mr. Koplar and his heirs, the Brown family, have continued to develop the Village of Four Seasons with the highest standards. They have implemented declarations and bylaws that restrict minimum size of residences and place a strong influence of quality to the building process from aesthetics to the finished home. Lakefront homes in Four Seasons range from the low $300,000’s to above $3 million.

There are numerous condominiums located in Four Seasons and or on Horseshoe Bend. Condos such as The Falls, Monarch Cove, Palisades, and Regatta Bay offer considerable value and a hands-off approach to maintenance. Vacationers and retirees looking to enjoy their time here at the Lake without the hassles of home ownership maintenance will be more than satisfied with the numerous condominium properties available on Horseshoe Bend. Condos became popular in the 1980’s, giving families an affordable option to home ownership with access to the lake and many other amenities that could only be offered in estate type properties. Condos in Four Seasons start at around $70,000 and peak at around $600,000.

In addition to the many home sites located within the Village of Four Seasons, there are numerous high end restaurants. Perhaps the best know is the Blue Heron -- a Lake of the Ozarks Icon. Then there is the newly opened Savannah Grill, featuring fine service and an unusual menu. One or our favorites is "The Duck," which is located on the water just off HH. Then there are HK’s, Ruthie D's, and the Toad, which is located in Camden on the Lakes Resort property! In addition to these fine dinning restaurants there are several casual dining establishments, numerous mom and pop resorts and marinas, as well as the Country Club Hotel and Spa.

The Village of Four Seasons is the most mature development at the entire Lake of the Ozarks, offering the quality and security you would expect for a sound real estate investment in your vacation or retirement home.
