For a more hands on experience off the Lake, there are a variety of sports and activities available to partake in, all over the Lake area, and catering to all tastes, year round. State parks and private land alike lend themselves to a variety of hunting, with proper permits and following regulations, and just East of Linn Creek is the Missouri Trapshooters Association, featuring 60 sporting clay traps at the 2nd largest trapshooting facility in the country. In addition to hunting, and equine trails at the state parks, several other horseback riding opportunities are in the Lake area Such as Lake of the Ozarks Trail Rides in Eldon, and Thouvenel Stables, whose trails wind around Margaritaville and the surrounding areas near Mansfield Forest State Wildlife Management Area.

  If you prefer a more exciting adventure while in nature, Adrenaline Ziplines in Camdenton gives you the opportunity to swing through the treetop canopies in guided tours for ages 4 and up, while Versailles on the North area of the lake provides 2 different off road parks that take you through the rolling hills and meadows of the Ozarks at ground level, both located on highway 135. Also on the 135 is the Ozarks International Raceway, with almost 4 miles of track, 19 corners and 1200 feet of elevation changes, it's a great place for anyone to perfect their driving techniques, or learn the basics of racing. For a driving experience more suitable to spectators, Lake Ozarks Speedway near Eldon is a 1/3 mile, high banked, dirt oval with a 5,000 seat capacity with all the amenities and year round events from a wide variety of classes and divisions.

  Closer to town, Lake Ozark and Osage Beach are full of adventurous possibilities, including 5 different go kart experiences in various locations, located at miniature golf centers and arcades throughout the area, featuring a variety of games for all ages and skill levels, in addition to driving challenges. Also located in Osage Beach is Fort 54 Paintball, open 24 hours a day, and is available to host private or corporate events by reservation, or, for a more virtual experience, Lazer Force laser tag and arcade is also available for parties and gatherings of all types in Osage Beach. In addition to dining and souvenir shopping, Bagnell Dam Boulevard, known as the Strip, has an abundance of activities, from the 3 leveled ropes course with 30 obstacles, at the Malted Monkey, to Celebration Cruises offering a variety of different Lake cruises daily, rain or shine, to Lake Ozark Helicopters who present a unique and relaxing way to take in the lake and the surroundings, or even to check out that property you've had an eye on, from a different perspective.
